Grants

Many of us have been fortunate enough to be blessed with an exciting life and immense support, the rewards include an accumulation of experience and happiness. The expression “been there, done that” takes on a whole new meaning when I see what my life has given me till now and will continue to bless me with.

I wish to see every child, to be eligible to shape their lives and seek a happy living. We have immense potential  which remains untapped in budding entrepreneurs. One of the pressing concerns frequently expressed is inadequate funding to implement their idea. This effort is a modest beginning, to be able to possibly help address this concern. Outstanding young leaders working on  innovative ideas are invited to apply to turn their ideas into a reality...

What is Youth Grant Partnership Program about ?
Grant Partnership Program is a successful model established in 2008. Our Philosophy is in line with  Venture Capital Investments. We derive our principles of lending from the concept of micro-finance and  from Limited Liability Partnership in regard to shaping our partnership, and  offer monetary support (subject to periodic performance review) for  3 years (in phases). We wish to be the support function for various small scale start-ups emerging into fully grown establishments

We strongly believe in protection of intellectual property. All the applicants are encouraged to patent their idea. We have applied for patent for our model of operation, which is due.

Why Youth ?
“No-one is born a good citizen, no nation is born a democracy. Rather both are processes that continue to evolve over a lifetime. Young People must be included from birth. A society that cuts itself off from its youth severs its lifeline…”

         -Kofi Annan

Youth – officially defined by the UN as people aged 15-24 – makes up one sixth of the world Population and nearly 54% of population of India. I personally feel that it is a necessity in the modern world to recognize the importance of youth participation. Young people face many challenges and problems particular to them especially problems related to sexual issues and are most vulnerable because of the same. The understanding of social, religious, cultural factors on youth is important in drafting any policy, for youth frame the next generation who will be affected by it.

The problems facing youth, challenge not only today’s societies, but future generations as well. It is essential to consider the opinion of the youth in seeking to address these challenges. Young people in all countries are both a major human resource for development and key agents for social change, economic development and technological innovation. By enabling participation of young people, I am sure we can benefit from their energy, idealism, unique perspectives and innovative and creative ideas.

Indirectly, billions of dollars (and rupees) of current investments are going into crystallizing policies, programs, institutions, and social realities that dramatically affect young people today (some highly positive, some not so positive). In most nations, youth have little knowledge, and even less say, on how these investments affect their lives daily. Young people are the experts on the issues that affect them and as such, are integral to achieving effective and enduring solutions. By empowering young people who will be the future policy makers with the needed skills and understanding of social change and other leadership ability, they will be more prepared to participate fully in society and decision making processes, they become engaged as partners in shaping the world they will inherit and pass onto future generations.

Youth participation has the benefit of empowering an often marginalized sector of society as well as leading to more appropriate and effective solutions to problems facing young people who frame one sixth of the entire population of the world.

It will also ensure a better establishment of guideposts for economically grounding their lives and the social institutions that sustain them, and to facilitate access to leading thinkers and practitioners who are engaged in areas related to community and economic development which the program promises.  This will lead to more informed choices by youth who are the future policy makers and hence will create a positive impact on the world through themselves, their peers and social circles.
